What to do while you’re here…
Wollstonecraft is a sleepy harbourside neighbourhood on the Lower North Shore of Sydney. Every spring, the streets become awash with soft purples, with hundreds of Jacaranda trees that take bloom here and in the surrounding suburbs of Greenwich, Waverton and Kirribilli, attracting tourists and locals to come and walk beneath their pretty purple petals.
Berry Island Reserve is a favourite spot with locals, with lots of soft grass to throw down a blanket while you take in the views of Sydney Harbour, as well as nature walks along the harbour foreshore, and a park to entertain the kids for a few hours.
Within walking distance is North Sydney, which has a cosmopolitan CBD and is home to a large number of enticing eateries and boutique shops. Or if you are in the mood to head further afield, the Wollstonecraft train station is a six-minute walk away, where it’s just three stops to the city.
